Unfortunately with 911 the travel industry has cut back and therefore recruiting people for flight attendant jobs are minimal. It used to be that almost all airlines were continuously hiring and therefore the opportunity was always available. Now, that it is sporadic it is important that people who really want the career as a flight attendant get the hiring process down right the first time.
When I was hired 22 years ago, I applied to many airlines. If I didn't get accepted by one, you just went for the next airline that was hiring and even if you did you still wanted to interview with the different airlines so you could have the opportunity to pick which carrier you want to fly for. I flew for Pan American Airways and after they went under I had to go through the interview process all over again. I got hired right away with an airline but I had to keep interviewing with the different airlines while I was waiting to get called for a training date, so that I could keep on collecting unemployment. I would show up for an interview and I remember looking at some of the people who showed up for the open house. They were obviously not dressed right and I wanted to walk up to them and tell them not to waste their time and go home. I felt bad these people weren't better informed. They seemed like fine candidates but I knew by the way they were dressed they wouldn't even be considered. Now, with the limited opportunity I feel it is imperative for prospective flight attendants to acquire the flight attendant hiring tips.
I developed this website to give people the opportunity to be able to be informed and hopefully get it right the first time and get hired. It is a great lifestyle and really hard to give up. I started out thinking I would do this for only a short time and then do my "real job".
