Flight attendant hiring for American Airlines

For all of you hoping to apply to American Airlines, I just heard from a friend who flys for them that they have no plans to hire in the near future. They furloughed all of the TWA flight attendants after 911 and per contract they need to recall all of them back first, before they even think of hiring new hires.
